Artemisia Gentileschi, Angelica Kauffmann, Clara Peeters, Rosa Bonheur, Mary Cassatt, Berthe Morisot, María Blanchard, Natalia Goncharova, Sonia Delaunay and Maruja Mallo were famous artists in their time who today are once again recognized as masters, in response to the erasure in the history of art that suffered alongside others that broke molds with works of undoubted excellence.

With almost a hundred pieces, including paintings, sculptures, works on paper and textiles, this exhibition, curated by Rocío de la Villa from a feminist perspective, presents a journey from the end of the 16th century to the first decades of the 20th century, through of eight relevant scenes on the path of women towards their emancipation. Starting from the current notion of sorority, it focuses on groups of artists, patrons and gallery owners who shared values and favorable sociocultural and theoretical conditions, despite the patriarchal system. The conjunction of historical periods, artistic genres and themes is the main axis on which the exhibition is structured, evidencing how these artists addressed burning issues of their time, took a position and contributed new iconography and alternative views.
